Heritage Preservation in East Central Europe: Practices, Resources, Communities

This lecture explores heritage as a future-making practice, moving beyond the traditional idea of preserving objects for future generations. We will examine an ecological perspective on heritage, thinking of the preservation and recirculation of garbage, as well as the multiple reuses of things, as an ecological practice. Moreover, we will build onto our previous discussions on adaptive heritage reuse and heritage communities by viewing heritage care as a practice that helps provide social cohesion to communities.
