Heritage Preservation in East Central Europe: Practices, Resources, Communities
The critical notion of heritage suggests that it is something we value, but not always something which we celebrate, wish to continue practicing, or consider a good example. It is not something sacred that we must leave as it is. Heritage can be difficult, irritating, problematic, and unwanted. Nevertheless, we want to preserve it because it brings important meanings and ideas about our past which we want to pass to future generations. How can we implement this understanding of heritage into the way we deal with the socialist legacy?
