Maryna Voronina

Historian, Associate Professor of the Department of World History at H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University. In 2005, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic “Female Urban Dwellers of Kharkiv Governorate: Gender Discrimination and the Dynamics of Change (1861–1917)”. During her tenure at the university, she has taught various academic disciplines, including “History of Slavic Peoples of the 20th – 21st Centuries”, “Contemporary History of Europe and the Americas (1918 – Early 21st Century)”, “Theory and Methodology of History”, “Gender Discourse in World History”, “Ethnology of the Peoples of the World”, “Historiosophy”, “Social Anthropology of the Peoples of Ukraine and the World”.

The author of more than 60 scientific studies, including articles in specialized Ukrainian and foreign publications, as well as a co-author of collective monographs: “Gender Studies” (2015), “Women in the Crucible of Modernization” (2017), “Female Dimensions of the Past: Perceptions, Experiences, Representations” (2023), “Soviet SELF, Soviet WE” (2024).

Board Member of the Ukrainian Association for Research in Women’s History (UARWH), which is a collective member of the International Federation for Research in Women’s History. From 2020 to the present, she has served as the Director of the Gender Center at H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University.
