Oleksandr Cheremisin
Doctor of History, Professor at the Department of History, Archeology and Teaching Methods at Kherson State University, where he is curently working on a monograph on the topic: “The Chronicle of Kherson in the Dimensions of the Russian-Ukrainian War”. The research focuses on reconstructing the course of the city occupation of Kherson based on oral sources and reflections on his personal stay in Kherson during the occupation.

The Lists of Settlements were published by the Central Statistical Committee of the Russian Empire in the 1860-1880s. Each issue was dedicated to a separate governorate. It contained information about the region’s geographical and natural situation and its history. A complete list of settlements in the province was submitted according to the alphabetical principle, according to the staff distribution with statistical materials about each place.
